Description
This is an authentic, 1960s vintage Jungle Emperor beach pail. It measures 5 9/16 inches high (6 3/16 inches including the tabs for the handle), approximately 6 3/4 inches diameter at the top, 5 3/8 inches diameter at the bottom.



This pail is in better than average condition for its age and intended use. Click on the picture above to view 4 pictures showing the entire outside of the pail.

The pail features many of the characters from the TV show. Starting from the left there is Dan'l Baboon, Geraldine Giraffe, Bucky Gazelle, Speedy "Cheetah" (as identified in the English version of the show), Kimba, and Pauley Cracker.

The characters place the date of manufacture after the start of the TV show in 1965; the Mushi Productions sticker places the date before the demise of that studio in 1973.



There are definite signs of use. While the front side of the pail displays very nicely, the back side has noticeable rust. The inside of the pail shows rust as well, and there is a dent at one of the handle tabs, as you can see here.

The bottom of the pail is NOT dented--it is embossed with the outline of two fish, so that when you build your sand castles, each pile of sand will be decorated on top.
