Animated movie created in 1991 to go with Isao Tomita's music.

This VHS tape is manufactured by Nippon Columbia, catalog number COVC-4118. It features a new (1991) animated feature created specifically to illustrate Isao Tomita's Symphonic Poem, arranged by him from his music for the TV show.

Jungle Emperor Symphonic Poem The movie tells the story of the first Kimba episode, showing Panja's peaceful jungle, the coming of the hunters, the capture of Eliza and the death of Panja, and Kimba's birth and escape back to Africa. 58 minutes total. The soundtrack to the Symphonic Poem feature is all music, so there is no language problem with viewing it. Preceding the Symphonic Poem is a 7-minute segment introducing the various themes and the instruments that play them. Only this portion has narration, in Japanese.

Japanese VHS tapes are made exactly the same as US VHS tapes, so this tape will play on any US VHS machine. The tape has a Hi-Fi stereo soundtrack with CD-quality sound, that also plays very nicely in surround sound if you have a Dolby Pro-Logic sound system.
